Along with being a co-editor for Ho‘a O‘ahu, Cassie is also the campus government reporter for Ka Leo O Hawai‘i and an intern for Lady Pasifika. Previously she interned at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, where she reported on the state Legislature, social issues, homelessness, and more. Her bylines are featured in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Hawai‘i Business Magazine, El Tecolote and 48hills.

David Reardon

David Reardon’s position is co-editor of Ho’a. Prior to COVID-19, his hobbies included singing karaoke, playing live poker, and dining out. With a forced break from those activities, Dave has now memorized every line in every episode of Law & Order. Dave is interested in learning from and helping his classmates.

Charissa Porter is a web editor for Hoʻā at UH Mānoa and former journalist for Ka ʻOhana at Windward Community College. She also has one-and-a-half years of experience as an associate producer at KITV. Her interests include eco-conservation initiatives, cannabis for Veterans, and Indigenous education. She is a married mother of two toddlers. In her rare free time she enjoys mixing music, editing videos, painting, and gardening.

Elizabeth Ufi is the Co-Web Editor for Ho’a. Elizabeth has dreamed to have a career in journalism since she was in 8th grade, and she says being a part of UH Manoa’s journalism program has been an amazing learning experience.

Sami Sexton
Sami Sexton is on the multimedia team and is a Digital Media intern for Ka Leo. Sami loves taking pictures, being creative, traveling and checking out new spots, hitting up the beach, and spending time editing work at coffee shops! Sami is majoring in Journalism and minoring in Art and Communicology. She loves people and being able to use her creative passions for storytelling.

Mathew Vasconcellos
Mathew Vasconcellos’ position is in the Social Media department. His hobbies are riding motocross, making YouTube videos, playing video games, spending time with family, and rewatching old TV shows or cartoons from his childhood.
Kuʻualohapauʻole Lau
Along with being a design editor for Ho‘a O‘ahu, Kuʻualohapauʻole "Aloha" Lau also is a student intern at the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. She works withe the Digital and Print Media team and contributes to the Ka Wai Ola newspaper. She has published articles in the Ka Wai Ola and has video published on OHA's social media platforms. Her voice has also been featured in numerous campaign
advertisements. Aloha also enjoys working with local businesses to promote their products on Instagram.
